Wow, it has been 2 weeks since our last post. Time was not our friend last weekend.  We took a weekend trip to one of the far reaches of our mission,
Gisborne (pronounced "gisbin")  It is a town on the East coast of the North Island.  It is a 5 hour drive from Hamilton.  We have learned to look at travel in New Zealand by time and not distance. Gisborne is only about 160 miles from Hamilton but the roads are narrow, windy, and not direct to most areas.  We combined mission business with a little pleasure.  A few months ago a senor couple vacated a flat in Tokomaru Bay.  It is a town on a beautiful bay about 1 hour North of Gisborne.  There was several mission owned pieces of furniture left behind that was being stored by the landlady. So that was the mission business we needed to complete-to pick the stuff up and transport back to Hamilton.  We arrived in Gisborne Friday afternoon.  The next morning, we drove up to pick up the stuff.  We then spent the
day enjoying the beach and beautiful scenery in Tokomaru Bay.  See attached photos.  Later we returned to Gisborne and met up with another missionary couple, the Crofts, for a nice fish dinner.  Sunday, we headed back to Hamilton, stopping to attend the church in Nuhaka.  On the way home, we saw more beautiful countryside including Mount Ngauruhoe, the stratovolcano that was Mount Doom of Lord of the Rings fame.  We stopped in Taupo to streach our legs and visit Huka Falls.  It is a very unique water fall that is the head of the Waikato River,  the longest river in New Zealand.  Enough water passes through the narrow chute that makes  up the falls to fill an olympic sized pool in 13 seconds.  The extreme turbulence created by the falls forces large amounts of tiny air bubbles into the water creating a beautiful aqua color.

Our work at the office continues.  Most days blend together because we are so busy.  We arrive early and come home late and exhaused.  It is sometimes challenging because much of what we do is mundate and tedious.  We realize our work is essental to the success of the mission, allowing the missionaries to concentrate on their work. The challenge of it is to see the spiritual side.  Our most enjoyable moments are our interactions with the missionaries.  We vicariously are lifted by their experiences.

A wonderful testimony of the Book of Mormon by Tad Callister was shared with us recently and we would like to share it with you: https://youtu.be/f9Ug1IktZAI    We add our testimony to that of Elder Callister's.

We love you all!
