MTC Training

We had a great first week at the Missionary Training Center (MTC).  We had training from Preach My Gospel, which is the main handbook for missionaries.  This week we will be trained for our assignment in the mission office.

We live in senior housing at the MTC.  We have a nice bedroom and bathroom.  We eat our meals in the cafeteria.  On Wednesdays and Sundays, BYU ice cream is served—-so those days are favorites!

We had a great introductory lesson on the Doctrine of Christ, which consists of Faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, Repentance, Baptism/The Sacrament, the Gift of the Holy Ghost, and Enduring to the End.  We were assigned another couple to get to know and teach according to their needs.  We also needed to invite them to do something (a goal) at the end of each lesson.  They would then teach us and invite us to act ( make a commitment).  Examples of invitations are:  reading a conference talk reading certain scriptures, finding ways to involve one’s family in the mission experience, etc.

We have been strengthened through these experiences.  We are so grateful for the opportunity to serve our Savior through this mission.
